Dynamic Sky is by the very good Pulpit son Sky Mesa, sire of 8% blacktype winners, out of a mare by the great Forty Niner son Distorted Humor.

Dynamic Sky’s first stakes winner, Jilli Marie, is out of a mare by the Canadian-based Mr. Prospector son Cape Canaveral.
Cape Canaveral is bred on the Mr. Prospector/Seattle Slew cross so Jilli Marie show a double of both influences, Mr. Prospector at 5×3 and Seattle Slew at  5×4.

Pulpit and  Seeking the Gold (by Mr. Prospector) have combined in the pedigrees of at least 14 stakes winners, including Pulpit’s last Grade 1 winner, Lord Nelson. Five of the others are by Sky Mesa. That group includes stakes winners out of mares by the Seeking the Gold sons Petionville, Cape Town and Mutakddim. The former two are out of Seattle Slew mares, so bred Mr. Prospector/Seattle Slew like Cape Canaveral. Daughters of the Ontario-based Seeking the Gold son Where’s the Ring should also go well with Dynamic Sky.

Pulpit-line stallions have combined to sire at over 50 stakes winners out of mares showing influence of another Mr. Prospector-line stalwart, that of Fappiano. About one third of those are by Dynamic Sky’s sire, Sky Mesa, including two of his Grade 1 winners – General Quarters (dam by Unbridled’s Song) and Sky Diva (Unbridled). Sky Mesa has also sired stakes winners out of mares Victory Gallop, Quiet American and the Unbridled stallions Anees and Broken Vow. This puts daughters of the former Ontario stallion Niigon (by Unbridled) squarely in play for Dynamic Sky.

Sky Mesa, has sired a quartet of stakes winners out of daughters and granddaughters of Carson City, also by Mr. Prospector, including G2 winner Beethoven. Overall, there are at least 11 stakes winners out of Pulpit-line stallions out of mares showing the Carson City influence, including two Grade  1 winners.

Sky Mesa over Deputy Minister has produced at least six stakes winners, including a trio of graded winners. Three of these stakes winners are out of daughters of Silver Deputy. Mares by the Silver Deputy son Badge of Silver and his son Silver Max therefore should be prime targets for Sky Mesa as are mares by Wilko, a son of Awesome Again, who’s bred on a version of the Deputy Minister/Mr. Prospector cross that produced Silver Deputy.

Pulpit and Storm Cat are found together in the pedigrees of over 70 stakes winners, 15 of them at the Grade 1 level. Sky Mesa is a product of the cross and is the sire of stakes winners out of mares by the Storm Cat sons Giant’s Causeway, Tabasco Cat, Catienus, Tale of the Cat and his son Lion Heart. This puts mares by the Lion Heart son Kantharos in play for Dynamic Sky as well. Ontario sources of Storm Cat include Frac Daddy, Signature Red, Old Forester and Giant Gizmo (by Giant’s Causeway).

Mares showing Broad Brush are also interesting for Dynamic Sky. Sky Mesa is the sire of a pair of graded winners out of Broad Brush daughters as well as stakes winner whose 2nd dam is a Broad Brush daughter. Pulpit and fiver other stallions from his male line have combined to sire 11 additional stakes winners with Broad Brush-influenced dams. Broad Brush survives in North American pedigrees primarily through his son Include, damsire of a G2 winner by a Pulpit grandson.
