Two yearlings by the Shannondoe Farm stallion Society’s Chairman brought $110,000 at the 2018 CTHS Premier Yearling auction at Woodbine Racecourse. They were the top selling colts at Canada’s top yearling sale.
Shannondoe Farm consigned Hip 68, a colt from the female family of Gazelle Stakes (G2) winner My Miss Lilly who was bought by Catherine Day Phillips, agent.
Ten hips later, Colebrook Farms signed the six-figure ticket for the Society’s Chairman half brother to stakes winner Hopping Not Hoping. The colt was offered by Richard Hogan, agent.
Society’s Chairman is the sire of 25% blacktype horses from starters. He was represented by his latest blacktype runner the night before when Preferred Guest secured the place spot in the $100,000 Muskoka Stakes in her racing debut. The filly was purchased out of the Shannondoe Farm consignment at last year’s CTHS Premier sale by G G Racing Stables.
